Dr. Robert B. Van Winckle
Dr. Robert B. Van Winckle was born in Toronto, raised and educated in Montreal.
-Sir George Williams (Concordia) University- Bsc. 1967
-McGill University- DDS 1971
-University of Maryland- Oral Surgery 1976, with research in immunology of implanted bovine collagen
-Private Practice in Crown and Bridge Practice 1971 – 1973 and lecturer/demonstrator with Faculty of Dentistry McGill University (Crown and Bridge)
On September 9, 1976, Robert founded the Kingston Oral Surgery practice and later the Belleville Oral Surgery practices now known as Centennial Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and over the years has welcomed Drs. Lee, Barr and Ratkowski to the continually evolving practice. He is a long standing member of the Faculty of Medicine, Queens University, currently Assistant Professor of Surgery. Additionally, he is a former Dental Consultant with OHIP, past chair of the Division of Dentistry (KGH/HDH), has active memberships with multiple professional organizations and is a long standing attending staff member with Hotel Dieu and General Hospitals as well as Quinte Health Care.
While evolving towards retirement, he continues to enjoy the challenges and the wide spectrum of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with its opportunities to meet and assist people.
Robert and his wife Lynn reside in Kingston and have raised three adult children (a veterinarian, a civil engineer and an ergonomist/budding dentist) and three grandchildren. In his free time Robert enjoys the theatre, art, sailing/boating, golf, skiing and the company of his wife.
